Wide Receivers is a band of self-taught musical misfits featuring longtime friend of Jack Logan drummer Aaron Phillips on vocals and drums, Marc Tissenbaum on guitar and vocals and G-Force Kidby on bass and vocals.
In early 1997, Aaron took the money he made playing on Jack's Buzz Me In album and made All That Music Getting In The Way, Wide Receivers debut 7". Now, two years later, they have released their first CD, the self-titled Wide Receivers. 15 songs woven and blended together to create a chaotic half-hour tapestry. Two songs on the CD were recorded by Kelly Keneipp at his Backburner studio.
Wide Receivers is a band who make all the right moves by making all the wrong ones. Where most bands try to mask their limitations, Wide Receivers write songs around theirs. The singer can't sing so he doesn't even try. Monolithically simple bass lines become hooks unto themselves; Meanwhile the guitar cries like a baby or howls like a wounded cat. Wide Receivers, making rock-n-roll weird again.
