Athens, Georgia band the Dashboard Saviors played Americana music before Gavin had the classification. Rob Veal, former member of that late great band, continues the legacy of rocking twang on his debut CD. Rob takes it one step further, as his love of blues, folk and country canıt hide in the hip-shaking rock and roll. Joined by multi-instrumentalist Barry Sell (Skin Pops, Drive-by Truckers), with Jon Mills on bass and Jim Allen on drums, this 11-song collection offers anthems and lullabies. Whether calling out to the bartender for another round of drinks, or lamenting the endless day of work that lies ahead, Robıs lyrics bid ironic wisdom to the estranged and the loyal. Find musical inspiration in brisk mandolin and slide guitar, or sparse piano and rumbling clarinet.

Playing and travelling with the Dashboard Saviors practically non-stop from 1991-1996, Rob also found time to record with other artists, such as Marlee MacLeod and September ı67. He has also recorded, toured and co-written with the likes of Vic Chesnutt and Jack Logan. Rob, Jack and Kelly Keneipp recorded most of Loganıs 42-song Bulk, one of 1994ıs most critically acclaimed releases. While on tour in Europe with Vic Chesnutt, Rob co-wrote the title song to the 1996 tribute album, Gravity of the Situation. Recently, Rob has re-teamed with Kelly, and Nikki Keneipp, to record at Backburner, the label that now brings you this self-titled debut CD.
