You don't know where you're going till you know where you're From

It seems  like the thing  to do as we enter the year 2000 -- just a marker
really, and just for us, the humans that is.  It's not like you see the
birds and trees all in a panic about the end of the world, or that ocelots
are taking their lives in record numbers.  It's just another number, but
being human, numbers tend to spook us a bit.  That's sort of irrelevant, but it seemed a good point.

This isn't a show about wearing  musical influences on our sleeves , its about histories of all kinds.  This is a nod to the past while keeping feet firmly planted in the future.  It's a way at looking at all sorts of things that have influenced us both in personal and artistic ways, but not necessarily in major ones.
q:  So the theoretical is all well and good but, what is the practical
aspect of it?
Good question, I am glad you asked it, naturally  we don't want to be
terribly obvious,  really we are  looking to  the Eno/Byrne record" My Life in
the Bush of Ghosts" as inspiration on this.  Found bits and fragments of the
past worked into the now.
We are bringing some new friends into the posse for this show, Drew Miller
(Boiled In Lead) will be playing his Appalachian Dulcimer alongside Joel
Hanson 's Hammered Dulcimer (Passage, Judgment of Paris). Also this marks the first FP performance, of No Name Noise curator  John Vance
(Wrong, Rexor). Probably  the biggest new addition is Lilith, a truly astounding electro-acoustic group from Chicago (even though most people seem to get confused and think they are English).
As always  lots of  returning regulars like A Most Happy Sound, Satoshi
Shinozaki, Chuck ZwickyThrob Pod (featuring Jim Anton) Paul Horn, TS, Radar Threat,  Big Daddy Jr. and the Spook (Terry Hannen, Jason Ducklinski, (Lunar 9) & Tim Ritter (Passage). Oh and  did I mention Kevin Cole?  'cause he will be there too. Video by Keri Halverson, Lights by Magic Lantern Light Show.  Curated by Chris Strouth
Tickets are  $8.00 general admission, $6.00 students and Weisman Members.
